I am an expert researcher in Astronomy and Astrophysics, excellent at publishing and helping people with it (supervising, tutoring). All steps: literature review, project build up, experimental set up, results and analysis, discussion and conclusion. I am great organising both texts and data.
I am also good at consulting, teaching and interacting with the public at large (talks, observing sesssions, hands-on activities, exhibitions).
I am good at science writing too.

Experience
Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto
Sep 2011 – Present
Porto
Science Manager
Hired to set up a functional web-based data collecting system on all research activities by staff (lgdf.med.up.pt). This worked for many years as the critical instrument to produce yearly reports on Science Activities of the Faculty. It was swiftly extended to gather data on other areas so that staff were evaluated through the tool until 2019. Plenty of consulting activity of research projects. Now working inside a Department (Neurosciences and Mental Health), doing the same at a smaller level.
University of Madeira
Feb 1998 – Sep 2011
Funchal
Assistant Professor
Went to the University of Madeira to set up a new research group (in Astronomy) as well as a new 5-yr engineering degree course (in Instrumentation & Electronics Astronomy) and also plenty of activites for the public, culminating in the International Year of Astronomy 2009. A seed was left over there (supervised PhD student that now is a Professor).
