This project shows samples of artwork I created while employed at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Various pieces were sold as original art, limited edition prints, and also printed on merchandise such as watch faces. Other pieces were collectible animation cels. My role was to come up with the concept of the design, based on existing properties and staying true to character designs, and to take it from rough sketch to final painting under the direction of creative managers such as the Disney Design Group. Cel designs were often a collaboration with other artists on the Disneyland Ink and Paint team. This artwork was done in traditional media, mostly gouache on paper, and often created “on stage” at the theme park, in view of park guests.
