I have over five years experience writing and editing in the media space. I have worked as an editor for the maiden edition of an anthology, The Story Tree Challenge Anthology and have been contracted for the sequel anthology. I have written pieces for blogs and websites, working strictly to meet deadlines. I also possess the requisite working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
I am an excellent fit for this job because, at my core, I am a storyteller. Stories humanize the world. They are the thin threads that connect all humans despite our differences and otherness.
I am also savvy with writing and curating content for social media. Digital media, especially social media, is now the holy grail of communication and marketing. I know that good social media threads should be empathetic, relatable, and solution-driven served in bite-sized capsules of humor and pop culture relevance.
I know how important effective research is in storytelling and content creation. Effective research prevents errors or, worse, the oversight of important issues and nuances that are central to the existence and representation of people.
As a creative writer, my works explore boyhood, grief, sexuality and the liminal spaces where they intersect. I was a finalist of the 2022 Afritondo Short Story Prize and the 2022 Alpine Fellowship Writing Prize. My works are published and/or forthcoming in Afritondo, Litro Magazine, Lolwe, Isele Magazine and elsewhere.
I believe my biggest strength is my eye for good stories. Plus, I am adept at learning new things and adjusting to situations that need adjusting to.
