1. Java Java is a programming language developed by Sun Microsystems. It was originally designed for use on the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), which is a virtual machine software layer that runs on top of various hardware platforms and operating systems. Java programs run on JVMs and are compiled into bytecode before being executed. Java is cross-platform, meaning that they work on many different types of computers without any modification. Java applications are often called applets. 2. C++ C++ is a general purpose computer programming language. It is derived from C, a language created at AT&T Bell Labs in 1969. C++ is a superset of C, adding object-oriented features and additional data types. C++ supports automatic storage management, operator overloading, exceptions, dynamic memory allocation, templates, uniform initialization, user-defined literals, and complex numbers. 3. Python Python is a high-level, interpreted, object-oriented, open source programming language. It is known for its elegant syntax and simple grammar. Python's design philosophy emphasizes code readability, and its interactive mode makes prototyping easier than in some other languages. Python is free software licensed under the GNU General Public License. 4. PHP PHP is a server side scripting language. It is widely used for web development and can be embedded directly into HTML pages. PHP is notable for its extremely fast execution speed, both in terms of programmer productivity and server performance. PHP is a registered trademark of Zend Technologies. 5. SQL SQL stands for Structured Query Language. It is a declarative programming language that uses structured query notation to access relational databases. SQL provides a standard way to manipulate data stored in a database.
