The Midwest Writing Center is always looking for volunteers to help staff the center, help with memberships and marketing, event support, and help with special projects. How you help is totally up to you. We are flexible with our schedule and happy to accommodate. Volunteering is a great way to get involved, become a part of the Center and our literary community, and network with other writers and authors. You can volunteer on a regular schedule, periodically, occasionally, sporadically, or for a season. If you are a student, being a volunteer is a great resume builder! If you are interested in volunteering as an intern, we are happy to work with your school to help you get credit, reimbursed, or realize other benefits for which you’re eligible through your institution. Please contact us for more information about how you can get involved: Midwest Writing Center Ryan Collins, Executive Director c/o RIPL 401 19th St. Rock Island, IL 61201 (309) 732-7330 mwc@midwestwritingcenter.org www.mwcqc.org

Rhythm In Place provides students (K-12) with access to a music education during quarantine! All classes are completely free to accommodate those facing economic challenges, and occur exclusively online. We offer both group and private classes. We accommodate students with learning disabilities, and are currently providing classes in five languages. We’re looking for musically-inclined high school and college students interested in giving back to the community during these challenging times. We offer theory and singing classes in addition to instrument classes, for those students or tutors who don't have instruments at home. Scheduling is very flexible, and we only ask for a minimum commitment of one hour a week. Our immediate goal is to enroll at least 25 more tutors, as well as work towards accepting donations in order to provide rental instruments for lower income students. All donations that exceed that amount will be donated to Feeding America. Please visit our website at www.rhythminplace.org to apply to join our music tutoring team! If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to rhythminplace@gmail.com Thank you, and hope you all have a nice summer! Know someone who would be interested in taking our classes? Whether they’ve never taken classes before, or haven’t picked up their instrument in three months, we’re ready to welcome them to our program! Enroll today at www.rhythminplace.org
