Washington is an Assistant Manager at Entsika. He holds a CIS qualification from Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa (CGSA) and a Programme in Public Procurement and Supply Chain from UNISA. He has over 17 years of working experience in various sectors.
Prior to joining Entsika, he worked for EY, TETA, FoodBev SETA, Resolve Solution Partners and SGS South Africa where he gained an extensive experience in accounting, procurement & supply chain and business consulting experience.
His experience spans across multiple cultures and geographies, having worked in private and public sectors. He has experience in public sector after working as Assistant Accountant, SCM Specialist, SCM Consultant and Internal Audit Supervisor. He dealt with various clients which includes Transnet, ACSA, FoodBev, TETA, RAF, GDID, RAL to name a few. Whilst in private sector he dealt with regional offices in several countries in Africa (Mozambique, Angola, Zambia, Tanzania, Mali, Ghana etc), Europe (Czech Republic, France, Switzerland) and Australia.
At Transnet as Audit Supervisor, he was responsible for providing assurance in capital projects, high value tender (HVT) and Copex. Washington held several key roles in public sector at various clients which includes ACSA : Supply Chain Functional Consultant, RAF: Supply Chain Consultant, Procurement Investigator: Sedibeng Water,
His wide range of expertise includes: provide audit assurance on infrastructure asset management; analysis of procurement spend; identify and reporting of potential savings; develop and implement appropriate sourcing strategies for various commodities; monitoring compliance by staff to supply chain management policy and processes; Identify, report and advise on root cause of irregular and fruitless & wasteful expenditure in line with PFMA, PPPFA, NT Regulations and analysis of expenditure.
