Gentiva Hospice is looking for individuals who want to spend time with hospice patients sharing any gift, skill, talent, or passion you have. You decide how many hours you want to volunteer. You decide how far from where you live to drive. You decide when you are available. We are flexible and can work with your busy schedule. Typically volunteers will volunteer three times a month for one hour each time, but some do more. Our patients are located in nursing homes, memory care centers, as well as houses and condos. You can decide where you want to volunteer. Hang out with one patient and read out loud, watch TV/movie, play games together, sing, pray, complete word searches, play guitar, sit and talk, or whatever your talent is! we are asking for a three hour per month commitment. Someone will be with you on your first visit.
We have patients all over the Chicagoland area and you can choose how far you want to drive to see your hospice patient. Training provided. Must be able to pass drug screen, background check, and fingerprinting.
